What do Christians say about fertility treatments? This link will take you throughwhat each denomination has to say. Quite short and easy to handle.

What is IVF? A brief but accurate description of IVF. Sadly I can't make the video link work.

Christians and fertility treatment This link comes from the "Christian Institute". They claim to have a biblical perspective on the issues. Their description of what is involved in all the different genetic practices is good. They seem to air hard questions rather than make firm decisions.

Roman Catholic view on IVF This Reuters news story from Decemeber 2008 sums up the Roman Catholic viewpoint on bio-ethics.

Euthanasia and suicide

Samaritans This page will give you the latest statistics on suicide published by the Samaritans in the UK.There are also links to other parts of their site.

Suicide prevention Again a site maintained by the Samaritans. This page describes their Suicide Prevention Hotline and their Public Education Program.

Centre for Suicide Research This is part of the University of Oxford's contribution to research into the causes of suicide. This link will take you to their statistics page.

Befrienders International This organisation is now maintained by the Samaritans. The organisation not only provides statistics, but there are also links to the World Health Organisation.

Suicide and ethics This page run by the Christian Medical Fellowship is really discussing issues akin to euthanasia, but there is quite a useful discussion about the 1961 Suicide Act.

Euthanasia

Care not killing Care NOT Killing is a UK-based alliance of individuals and organisations which brings together human rights groups, healthcare groups, palliative care groups and faith-based organisations. The Roman Catholic Church has great urges Christians to belong to it.

Euthanasia Updates in euthanasia, produced by Lawrence M Hinman. This is a very wide ranging site with lots of relevant links. Quite advanced for GCSE.

Christianity and Euthanasia This site belongs to the Christian Medical Fellowship. There are some very attractive looking links and the site is quite wide ranging in its coverage of the issue. Use with care.

The Hospice Movement

Hospice development This document describes the origin of the Hospice movement in the 1960s.

What the Hospice movement does This site carefully describes the many aspects of the work done by hospices.

Dame Cicely Saunders Dame Cicely died in July 2005. The BBC News Service paid this tribute to her life and work.

Macmillan Nurses Macmillan Nurses are part of the Macmillan Cancer Relief. The link describes the work of the nurses and all other types of care the charity provide.

Animal Rights

Animal rights This is a very balanced site. It discusses the issues and has links showing both sides of the arguments.

Richard Girling's article on animal testing This appeared in the Sunday Times January 10th 2010. It is long but worth a read.

Huntingdon Life Sciences The name of this company is bound to come up in any discussion of the subject. It is worth looking at what they themselves say about the topic.
