Non-violent protest
China and non-violent protest
One of the most outstanding examples of non-violent protest was in 1989 in Tiananmen Square, where Chinese students protested against their government. This site recalls that uprising. Many photographs.
The Pope and peace This is taken from a sermon given in January 2004 by the Pope. During his Homily the Pope paid tribute to Archbishop Michael A. Courtney, Apostolic Nuncio in Burundi, "a witness to the Gospel of peace" who was killed on 29 December 2003 in Burundi carrying out his mission.
