Responsibility for the planet
Christian teachings aboout the origins of the world
What the Bible says about the origin of the world
Creationists Wikipedia has quite a long article on them. The first part is on Christianity and Creationism/
Creationism This is actually a site run by creationists. I suggest you scroll down to what it says about creationism in the UK.
Balancing the two
Religion and science
Big Bang Theory A really useful article on the Big Bang. It explains terms carefully and includes a video clip.
Science and Religion Forum A bit advanced for GCSE but a quick scan round some of the articles should convince most people that there is a discussion going on.
Science and Religion Article in Stanford Encyclopaedia of Philosophy. This is good for the basic headings if nothing else.
Richard Dawkins' contribution Dawkins does not believe there is any common ground between science and religion. Dawkins doesn't believe in God but does believe in science.
Charles Darwin
Charles Darwin Don't be put off by the fact that it says it's for kids. This site has a mine of information about the man, his work and the implications for today. The site is simple, straightforward, yet profound.
Who was Charles Darwin? This site has the answer. Facts abut his life - well presented.
Intelligent Design
Intelligent Design This is a brilliant introduction
to what is a very complex subject.
What is Intelligent Design I like the approach of this website.
You can see at a glance the questions it intends to answer. A good starting point.
How Intelligent Design works This explanation fro "How Stuff Works" is very straightforward and easy to follow. The only slight criticism is that it is
American and refers to American examples and decisions. Even so for the beginner it is great.
Animal Rights
UK Animal Rights This is a splendid gateway site on all issues concerning animal rights.
It lists organisations, has blogs, photographs and practical ideas on the subject. A "one-stop" site but purely secular.
Animal Rights BBC site on the ethics of animal rights. The site offers many choices for particular areas of study.
Christians and Animal Rights Again a BBC study on the subject.
Very reliable and thorough.
What does the Bible say about Animal Rights The answer is "not a lot" even this article is struggling.
It is not really a question the Bible was designed to answer. Even so this is about as good as it gets.
Animal Rights Directory This is quite good as farf as it goes, but it is a Canadian organisation and the examples it quotes may not b e entirely relevant in the UK.
CARE Christian Animal Rights Effort This may seem the ideal answer and it is good to know that Christians are involved in this sort of way.
Again this organisation is not represented in the UK as far as I know.
ASWA The Anglican Society for the Welfare of Animals is a UK based Christian organisation.
Environment
The evidence from the Bible What the Bible says about God's relationship with the world.
Christians' responsibility on this issue BBC site designed for GCSE. It is
quite good on contemporary views and gives theopinion of the Roman Catholic Church with quotations from the Pope.
Christian Ecology weblinks Christian Ecology Movement is a key organisation on this topic.
I would recommend looking at their Home Page. This page though shows the views of different groups, including a link to the Quaker views.
Why should Christian care for the environment You Tube presentation that I was prepared not to be impressed by.
However it seems very balanced and worth a look.
Pollution
Pollution an overview I am not always impressed by Wikipedia,
but this article has a good summary of the different sorts of pollution which I think is worth reading. It will save a lot of searching later on.

Supporting Organisations
Friends of the Earth All you ever wanted to know about "Green Issues". This is a very large site. It deals with all the major problems and describes recent developments which may help or hinder the issues. One of the leading environmental pressure groups in the UK.
Greenpeace At times a touch more international in outlook. Greenpeace tackles world-wide issues and often does so in a forceful way.
WWF World Wildlife Fund. This organisation encourages people to preserve the good things of the planet. Its issues deal with climate change, endangered species, forests, and preservation of the seas.
