Pilgrimage does not play as important a part in Judaism as it does on other world religions: nevertheless there are a number of sites that are essential places of interest.

Yad Vashem The National Holocaust Memorial.

Qumran This is thought to be the place where the Dead Sea Scrolls were written.

Masada Magnificent rock fortress that overlooks the Dead Sea. The remains of a palace can be seen which belonged to King Herod. Jewish patriots held the site against the Roman Army during the Jewish war 70CE.
