COURSES FOR TEACHERS AND STUDENTS
The scene here is quite interesting and complex. Examination Boards tend to run their own INSET using their own examiners - at least that is the case with OCR.
Heythrop College also has a great interest in this field. Their vice-principal is Dr Peter Vardy who now manages his own company Candle Conferences -see below for details.
Philip Allan Updates also have conferences, designed mainly for those working with Edexcel. They hold teacher conferences and conferences for students. These include guest speakers.
SFE are in a much less specialist market. Their conferences offer a wide range of topics and they tend to use their own trainers, who are teachers and advisers rather than lecturers and academics. Their conferences and seminars look impressive, but are more expensive.
