RELIGIOUS STUDIES HARDWARE
This is the page where we explore all the religious junk with which you can
fill your classroom. Most of it is for sale, but there are some organisations willing to lend goodies.
The problem is that so much of it is expensive, so tour your local gift shops
for that elusive statue of the Buddha. Religious Objects

A company now with a great reputation. They have sorted out their packs of religious
articles and these are carefully listed and displayed in their colourful catalogue.
Good quality, fairly authentic products for each of the major world religions.
They have also branched out into books, videos, posters and CD-ROMs.
The down-side of all this is that it all costs money. Real money.

How about loans instead of purchasing?
The Jewish Museum has put together a huge box of Jewish artefacts, specifically for schools to borrow and use in the teaching of RE.
This box is suitable for use in primary and secondary schools and can be borrowed for a week, a month (or possibly longer by request). Prices on application.
For more information speak to Anna (or Esther) on 0208 371 7373 or e-mail education@jewishmuseum.org.uk.

"This is the only complete series of Jewish Educational material for Cheder
Classes, Hebrew Schools and Jewish Day Schools of its kind published worldwide.
All Games come in laminated sheets and laminated question cards. Great games
to play with all the family on Shabbos and Yom Tov. Games for children (and
adults) of all ages."
That is what their website boasts. I don't know how they react to Gentile schools.
But education is education and does anyone turn down money these days?

The website is awesome - especially the on-line shop, where much of the script
is Hebrew. Don't be put off by this. Visit the shop and you will find the staff
very helpful and understanding.
It is a shop that sells books, Hebrew software and Hebrew hardware for Jews.
But they are very accommodating towards teachers and not all of their goods
cost an arm and a leg. I purchased a plastic replica Seder plate for £2.95!

The company advertises itself as one of the "smaller independent school suppliers."
I think the range of goods they offer in Religious Studies is brilliant. Artefacts
with a difference. At least send for their catalogue. They cover the main world
religions. They also produce books, copies of sacred texts and even an Azan
clock which plays a recording of the Muslim calls to prayer!

This is the shop attached to the West London Synagogue. They sell books, jewellery, greetings cards, fashion items, festival tableware, ornaments and children's games. They are very central quite close to Oxford Street. Check their website for opening times. They seem geared up for school teachers. Some opening times say "During Term Time"
